Songs by Clint Borzoni on Walt Whitman Texts
In the fall of 2010, bass-baritone Tim Hill created a Kickstarter campaign to fund the commission of four of these songs and the subsequent recording of the CD. Tim has received accolades for both his beautiful singing and visceral stagecraft. Of his New York City performance as Scarpia in Tosca, OperaNotes.com said “Timothy Hill was the star of the day.” Newark’s The Star Ledger called his Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, “…most polished, with a fine burly baritone and a developed actor’s sense of timing.”
CLINT BORZONI‘s music reflects his passion for lyricism and functional harmony. Clint started studying music when he was seven and wrote his first piece at the age of eleven. He has written over fifty pieces, including a piano concerto, percussion quartet, piece for orchestra, two string quartets, several works for chamber orchestra, and many art songs. He also wrote the music for the musical, My Life as a Bald Soprano which premiered in the June Havoc Theater during the 2008 Midtown International Theater Festival.
Lucy Yates’ piano and harpsichord playing have taken her throughout North and South America and Europe in orchestral and chamber music. She is also active as a coach and vocal accompanist. As a soprano she has been a featured guest of numerous American and Italian houses and of major festivals including Spoleto, Ravinia, and Aldeburgh. She has collaborated with such conductors, composers and directors as Plácido Domingo, Gian Carlo Menotti and Franco Zeffirelli.
